Cross Country Competes at Greenville Classic

HILLSBORO, Ill. – The Eureka cross country team competed at the Greenville Classic on Friday evening.
On the men's side, Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) led the way with an 8k time of 28:05, which was good for 14th place. Tony DeLira (Chicago, Ill./Alcott) followed shortly after Webster with an 18th place finish and a time of 28:40. Jose Amador (Kempton, Ill./Tri-Point) was the next finisher with an 8k personal record (PR) of 30:07, placing him in 28th. Tucker Williamson (Monticello, Ill./Monticello) finished in 37th place with a time of 31:59, while Kristoffer Collins-Brown (Decatur, Ill./Unity Christian) rounded out the field for Eureka with a PR of 38:25.
The men's team finished fourth out of six teams with 101 points.
Due to injury and illness, the women's team was very shorthanded, with Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) being the Red Devils' only participant. Fisher delivered a strong showing, with a 5k PR of 21:14, which was good for a 9th place finish.
At the conclusion of the meet, top 20 finishers were recognized with t-shirts. Webster, DeLira, and Fisher were the three Red Devils to receive these honors.
