WAUKESHA, Wis. – For the first time in his esteemed career, Eureka's Brendan Durr (Washington, Ill./Washington) is the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The fifth-year senior linebacker racked up a career-high 13 total tackles, including five solo efforts and eight assists, along with a sack, a forced fumble and a pass breakup, in Eureka's 23-14 win at Greenville on Saturday. With the pressure on, he sacked the quarterback and forced a fumble on the Eureka 13 with less than two minutes left in the game to seal the win.

Durr is the first NACC Defensive Player of the Week since Logan Noel on Sept. 11, 2018. He (21 total tackles) is one of only four players in the NACC to have already notched 20 total tackles this fall.

On Saturday, he led the Red Devils in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks and forced fumbles, and helped limit the Panthers to just 284 yards of total offense. Through two games, Eureka's defense has allowed just 15 points and 256 yards per game – both league lows.

On Saturday at 1 p.m., Eureka (2-0) will open NACC play with a home showdown against Rockford (1-1) at McKinzie Field. The Red Devils have won six of seven matchups against Rockford and have come out on top in the last five meetings with the Regents.
