WAUKESHA, Wis. – Eureka College sophomore linebacker Logan Noel (Westville, Ill./Westville H.S.) has been chosen Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. Noel had six tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack in the Red Devils' 38-6 non-conference rout of Iowa Wesleyan last Saturday night.

Noel, who owned or shared the team lead in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks in the win over the Tigers, has now recorded a sack in each of the Red Devils' first two games. His effort allowed EC to limit IWU to 98 total yards of offense and negative-13 rushing yards.

Noel and Eureka's swarming front seven own the nation's fifth-ranked rush defense. Opponents have averaged only 7.5 rushing yards per game through the season's first two weeks.

Eureka will aim for its first 3-0 start since 1991 when Finlandia visits McKinzie Field for the NACC-MIAA Challenge Series this Saturday at 1 p.m.
