Men’s Cross Country Picked Sixth in SLIAC Coaches Poll
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its preseason poll for men's cross country on Thursday. The Red Devils were selected sixth with 31 points, based on voting by the league's cross country coaches.
Greenville received the most overall points with 64 and eight first-place votes. Principia was picked to finish second with 56 points and received the only remaining first-place vote.
Webster came in third in the poll with 51 points, followed by Spalding, who received 40 points to put them in fourth in the poll. Lyon received were picked to finish in fifth place with 36 points, just in front of the Red Devils, who received 31 points. Westminster (19 points), Blackburn (17 points), and MUW (10 points) rounded out the poll.
The Red Devils return their top two runners from the 2023 season in Jose Amador (Kempton, Ill./Tri-Point) and Tony DeLira (Chicago, Ill./Alcott). The Red Devils also welcome back Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) who missed the 2023 cross country season with an injury. Tucker Williamson (Monticello, Ill./Monticello), Michael Beaumont (Greenup, Ill./Cumberland), Hayden Skaggs (Mansfield, Tex./Mansfield), and Kristoffer Collins-Brown (Decatur, Ill./Unity Christian) round out a Red Devils' roster that features a lot of familiar faces.
Eureka's 2024 season begins on Friday, August 30 at the Rock River Invite in Rockford, Illinois at 5:00 PM.
