Eureka Cross Country and Distance Releases 2023 Schedule

 EUREKA – The Eureka cross country and distance team's 2022 fall season was the best in program history. This fall has potential to be even better.  

On Thursday, the program officially announced the schedule for the 2023 fall season.

"I am really looking forward to this upcoming fall cross country season," EC cross country head coach Chris Robinson said. "We have swapped in two new meets in our schedule, and we have a nice mix of competition across all divisions. After only losing one senior and setting program best results last fall, we are excited to continue our progress and take the next steps."

The first meets of the season will be new challenges for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils will open the 2023 campaign with the Rock River Invite in Rockford on Friday, Sept. 1. The men's 5k will begin at 5 p.m. and the women's will follow at 5:35 p.m.

A week later, Eureka will compete in the Prairie Stars Invitational in Springfield. The women will open the meet with a 5k at 5:30 p.m. and the men will run their first 7k of the season at 6:15 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 15, the Red Devils will return to Detweiller Park in Peoria for the Bradley Intercollegiate. The meet will feature a women's 3-mile race at 5:15 p.m. and a men's 8k at 6 p.m. After the meet, Eureka will celebrate Senior Day.

For the second straight year, the team will compete at the Warrior Invitational in West Allis, Wisconsin, on Saturday, Sept. 30. The men will run their second 8k of the season at 11 a.m., while the women run their first 6k at 12 p.m.

The Red Devils will then tune-up for the postseason with the Greenville Classic on Friday, Oct. 13. The women's 5k will take place at 4 p.m. in Litchfield and the men's 8k will follow at 4:45 p.m.

Finally, Eureka will take on the best runners in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday, Oct. 28 in the 2023 SLIAC Cross Country Championship in Hillsboro.

NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 and the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship will be in Carlilse, Pennsylvania, on Nov. 18.
