Company Named Second Team All-SLIAC

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka's Alyssa Company (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln Community) has been named to the All-SLIAC Second Team based on voting by the league's coaches. Company is the Red Devils' first All-SLIAC selection in volleyball since 2018 and their highest selection since 2017.

In just her freshman year, Company was a standout for the Red Devils, leading the team in kills (246), points (311.5), solo blocks (30), assisted blocks (21), and total blocks (51). She led the SLIAC in solo blocks per set with 0.38 and finished sixth in the conference in total blocks per set with 0.65. Her 3.99 points per set ranked fourth in the SLIAC, while her 3.15 kills per set were the fifth most in the conference.

Company's biggest game of the season came on October 19 in a four-set win over Blackburn in Louisville, Kentucky. She delivered 25 kills in the match, tying for the second-most kills in a single game in program history. On September 17, in just her third collegiate match, Company recorded 5 solo blocks against Webster, tying for the fifth-most solo blocks in a single game in program history. Her efforts in that match helped the Red Devils win in five sets, claiming their first-ever victory over the Gorloks.

Eureka junior Chloe Schaffner (Delavan, Ill./Delavan) was also selected as the Red Devils' representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
