Eureka Falls at Fontbonne, 3-0

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eureka volleyball team couldn't stay with Fontbonne on Friday, falling 3-0 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

The Red Devils got closer with each set, but they couldn't close the gap. The final scores were 25-13, 25-25-17, 25-19.

Payton Florine (Galesburg, Ill./Abingdon-Avon/Lincoln), Hallee Gauna (Arcola, Ill./Arcola/Lincoln Trail College) and Daizjah Shannon (East St. Louis, Ill./Cahokia/Lincoln) each had a team-high four kills for the Red Devils.

Libero Jurnee Flournoy (Decatur, Ill./Decatur MacArthur) came up with 10 digs and a pair of aces at the service line. Setters Sara Hart (Secor, Ill./Eureka) and Hope McGinnes (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek-Mackinaw) each had six assists.

Fontbonne's Jordan Harpel recorded a match-high 11 kills and 14 points. Ella Werner-Click distributed 23 assists, and Emma Harrop had a match-high 15 digs.

The Red Devils (2-9, 1-5 SLIAC) continue their busy week on Saturday with a triangular at Westminster. They'll take on Mississippi University for Women (3-9, 1-4 SLIAC) at 2 p.m. and then face the Blue Jays (8-9, 4-2 SLIAC) at 4 p.m.
