Jordyn Fox Named SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

EUREKA – For the first time, Eureka's Jordyn Fox (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

The Red Devils' junior defensive specialist averaged 3.92 digs per set over three matches last week and reached double-digit digs twice.

As the libero on Friday, she racked up a career-high 33 digs in a five-set match on the road against Rockford. Then, later that night, she contributed 12 more digs and a pair of aces in a five-set victory over Lawrence.

Fox is Eureka's first Player of the Week winner since Anna Crank on Sept. 25, 2017 and Eureka's first Defensive Player of the Week winner since Courtney Kincaid in October 2012.

The Red Devils are 1-2 through three matches. On Wednesday, they'll head back on the road to take on Monmouth (4-1) at 7 p.m.
