EUREKA – The Eureka volleyball team couldn't quite keep up with hard-hitting Webster on Wednesday night.

The Gorloks racked up 44 kills, hit .282 on the night and recorded a 25-15, 25-19, 25-15 sweep over the Red Devils at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena.

Video Highlights

Junior Emma Harris (Streator, Ill./Streator) notched a team-high five kills on 25 swings for the Red Devils, while freshman Regan Reed (Flanagan, Ill./Flanagan-Cornell) added four on 21. Setter Faith Catour distributed 11 assists, and Rori Dosemagen (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) notched a team-high 12 digs.

Eureka's best set of the night was the second. That was when the Red Devils stayed with the Gorloks for the first 16 points. When Webster scored five out of six points to extend the lead to seven, EC went on a 4-1 run that made it a four-point game.

Back-to-back kills by Harris kept the Red Devils in the match at 23-19, but Webster capitalized on back-to-back EC errors to claim the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Gorloks also hit a match-best .350 in the second set.

After playing on back-to-back nights, Eureka (0-6) will get a couple days off before hosting SLIAC leader Westminster (5-0) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
