Eureka Posts PRs in Tune-Up at Greenville Select

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka cross country and distance team returned to action at the Greenville Select on Saturday, using the meet as a recovery opportunity between a long road trip and a quick turnaround for next week's Culver-Stockton Invite.
Each student-athlete focused on a single event, and despite lighter race loads, PRs and strong showings highlighted the day.
"We went in wanting to stay sharp without overloading anyone, and our group responded really well," head coach Chris Robinson said. "Bella dropped almost five seconds off her 1500m PR, Emily looked the strongest she has all season, and Bailey keeps chipping away at his times with another personal best. It was exactly the kind of day we were hoping for."
Isabella Carbajal (Chicago, Ill./Shepard) impressed with a new personal best in the 1500m, clocking in at 6:30.24. Emily Baker (Washington, Ill./Washington) looked smooth and consistent, finishing just ahead at 6:15.49. Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) continued to hold steady in the 800m, coming through in 2:44.82.
On the men's side, Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) continued his standout season by dropping nearly two seconds off his previous 800m PR, finishing in 2:03.47. Jose Amador (Kempton, Ill./Tri-Point) stayed consistent in the 1500m with a time of 4:44.63.
