Red Devil Women Place 5th and Men Set 5 PRs at SLIAC Indoor Championship

ELSAH, IL. – The Eureka distance team travelled to Elsah, Illinois on Saturday for the SLIAC Indoor Track Championship hosted by Principia.

The Red Devil women placed 5th overall, had four top 6 finishers (3 of them earning all-conference medals), 2 PRs and 1 Season Best (SB). Karissa Heffernan and Rachel Fisher continue to show they are among the top runners in the SLIAC in their events, as both earned medals on Saturday. Jaden Randall performed well in the 400m open and in her leg of the 4x4. And, Emily Baker saved her best running of the season for the championship meet, putting down PRs in the 800m, Mile, and her leg of the 4x4.

The men's team came home with one top 6 finisher and 5 PRs. The men's efforts produced PRs, and a 4th place finish in the 3000m. Both Khalil Alleyne and Gabriel Seeber ran PRs in the 400m run. Jose Amador, Tucker Williamson, and Michael Beaumont continued their trend of running PRs each time they competed in the mile this season. Bailey Webster had an amazing finish to run down a Greenville athlete in the 3000m to take 4th place. And, Tony DeLira closed out his indoor career with a strong 3000m coming in just shy of his PR, but still strong enough for his 2nd fastest time in the event.
