EUREKA – The Eureka cross country and distance team is eagerly awaiting its chance finish the spring distance season strong at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships this weekend.

In February, the Red Devils went to Principia College for the SLIAC Indoor Championships and brought home a handful of unprecedented honors. With Karissa Heffernan (Metamora, Ill./Metamora/Lewis) and Rachel Fisher (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) leading the way, the Red Devils captured victory in all three events that the team was favored to win on the women's side and earned a program-best fourth-place finish overall.

Now, the Red Devils are ready to take on the best runners in the conference again at Greenville.

Tony DeLira (Chicago, Ill./Alcott/Lincoln) will open the meet with the 10,000-meter run on Friday evening. The rest of the events will take place on Saturday, starting with DeLira and Bailey Webster (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) in the 5,000.

The top three finishers in each event earn all-conference honors and medals, and the top six score for overall team scoring.
