Women’s Soccer Falls to Greenville

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer team lost to Greenville on Wednesday night, with a final score of 6-0.

Eureka started the match strong defensively, but Greenville broke through with a goal in the 22nd minute. The Panthers added another goal in the 29th minute, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Greenville quickly extended its lead to three goals with a goal in the 48th minute. Between the 57th and 66th minutes, the Panthers scored three more times, stretching their lead to 6-0. The Red Devils' defense held strong in the final 24 minutes, closing out the game with a 6-0 loss.

Greenville outshot Eureka 42-0, with 22 shots on target. Megan Edwards (Manchester, Mich./Manchester) started and played 72 minutes in goal for the Red Devils, recording a career-high 20 saves. Hannah Jachimiak (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) entered the game in goal for the final 18 minutes and made 2 saves.
