Women’s Soccer Drops Early Morning Match at Lyon

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Eureka women's soccer team fell in their first SLIAC match of the season, losing 7-0 on the road against Lyon.

The Scots quickly established the lead, scoring just 13 minutes into the match and adding two more goals in the 25th and 27th minutes. The first half ended with a score of 3-0.

In the second half, Lyon continued their offensive push, scoring again in the 59th and 68th minutes to extend their lead to five. They capped off the match with two late goals in the 82nd and 89th minutes to seal the win. 

Lyon outshot Eureka 25-1, with 18 shots on target, while the Red Devils failed to register any shots on target. Freshman Hannah Jachimiak () delivered a standout performance in goal, notching a career-high 11 saves over the full 90 minutes. Addison Byers () recorded the lone shot for Eureka.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 2, when they take on Webster at 5:00 p.m. at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in St. Louis.
