 EC Women’s Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

EUREKA – New EC women's soccer coach Reece Scragg and the Red Devils are set to open a new era for the maroon and gold this fall.

On Wednesday afternoon, Scragg announced the schedule for the 2023 season, his first at the helm of the program.

The Red Devils' 17th NCAA Division III season will feature 15 matches, including nine St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference challenges and eight home dates at McKinzie Field.

Due to  the addition of Lyon College and the Mississippi University for Women, the Red Devils will take on each team in the 10-team once.

"I'm looking forward to our schedule, and all of the different challenges that we'll encounter along the way," Scragg said. "We will face a wide range of opposition this season as we work to improve our performances and results on the pitch."

This fall, the women's team will play after the men's team on doubleheader days.

It all starts with a three-match stretch of road games in early September.

On Friday, Sept. 1, the Red Devils will open the 2023 campaign at Defiance on Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. The following day, they will face Michigan-Dearborn at Defiance, and their last road contest of the first week will be at Rockford on Sept. 6 at 4 p.m.

The Red Devils will host Alverno in non-conference action in the team's first home match of the year on Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. The following week, they will host Mount Mary on Sept. 17 at 2 p.m., and Elmhurst will come to town for a 6 p.m. matchup on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m.

Eureka will then open SLIAC play at Principia on Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

In October, the Red Devils will host league showdowns against Webster on Oct. 6, against Fontbonne on Oct. 11, against Lyon on Oct. 14, against Spalding on Oct. 21, and against Westminster on Oct. 28.

On Saturday, Oct., 14, the Red Devils will face Lyon for the first time in program history on Homecoming. Senior Night will be against Westminster on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m.
