Fontbonne Puts Away Red Devils in Second Half

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eureka women's soccer team held Fontbonne to one goal in the first half on Saturday, but the Griffins put away five in the second half to notch a 6-0 win.

Five different Fontbonne players recorded goals, with Haley Buscher putting the home team on the board in the 25th minute.

Eureka held the Griffins scoreless for the next 17 minutes, but Mia Biermann made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Caroline Neal, Mia Patterson and Grace Trendle all found the back of the net after that, and Buscher scored again in the 85th minute to cap it.

Eureka goalkeeper Lizzie Brooksher (Saint Charles, Mo./Saint Charles) tallied 18 saves in net.

Eureka (2-6, 1-5 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) will next host Greenville (4-3-2, 3-1-1) on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
