SLIAC Releases Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll
BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its women's soccer preseason poll for the 2021 spring season on Tuesday.
Eureka was selected to finish eighth overall with nine points in the poll, which is voted on by league coaches.
Webster topped the poll with 45 points and three-first-place votes.
Greenville received 43 points and four first-place votes and Fontbonne was third with 39 points and one first-place vote.
Those three were followed by Westminster (33), Spalding (25), Blackburn (17) and Iowa Wesleyan (13).
The Red Devils return points leaders Madison Shines (Marengo, Ill./Marengo Community) and Michaela Mall (Princeton, Ill./Princeton). and goalkeeper Abby Swope (Canton, Ill./Canton). They also welcome a trio of seasoned juniors in Kayla Enochs (Greenfield, Ind./Central Greenfield), Emma Harris (Streator, Ill./Streator) and Lindsey Johnston (Evansville, Ind./Harrison).
