ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A preseason poll conducted by St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer coaches has selected Eureka College for a 10th-place finish in 2018, according to a Wednesday announcement from the league office.

Preseason SLIAC Women's Soccer Poll

Five-time defending regular-season champion Webster received eight of the 10 first-place votes to be picked as the preseason favorite to win the league. Greenville was second with a first-place vote and Fontbonne was third with the final first-place vote.

Seven letterwinners from last season's team are expected to return for fifth-year head coach Dwain Barker. Senior Mecayela Monroe (Litchfield, Ill./Litchfield H.S.) headlines the group, ranking sixth on the Red Devils' all-time goals list with seven and eighth on the program's career points list with 17. Tracy Kaske (Palatine, Ill./Palatine H.S.) joins Monroe as returners to have started all 14 matches last season.

The Red Devils will open their 12th season in program history on Saturday, Sept. 1 in a 2 p.m. non-conference match versus Rockford on the turf at McKinzie Field. The SLIAC openers follows later in the month, a Sept. 29 home bout with Fontbonne at 2 p.m.
