Red Devils Blanked by Mountaineers

EUREKA, Ill. – Caitlin Taulbee scored an unassisted goal in the 9th minutes, and it was all the visiting Berea Mountaineers needed in a 5-0 non-conference victory over the Eureka College Red Devils, Sunday afternoon at Traister Field.

The visitors would rack up four more scores in the first half, building a comfortable 5-0 lead at intermission.

The second half was shortened to only 25 minutes as the Red Devils were playing with just eight players.

Sophomore Emily Hascher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) led the Eureka offensive attack with two shots, one of those being on frame. Senior Kayleigh Choma (Austintown, Ohio/Fitch) also added a shot on goal. Junior goal keeper Kalionna Mathews (Troy, Ill./Triad) tallied 12 saves in the match.

Eureka (3-5-1) will host Spalding University this Friday in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match up. First kick is scheduled for 4 p.m.
