Men’s Wrestling Competes at MSOE Open

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Eureka men's wrestling team battled through illness and injuries at the MSOE Open on Saturday.

Jake Jozwiak led the way as the only place-winner for the Red Devils, finishing in 7th place at 125 pounds. Jozwiak started his day with a loss by fall but responded with a 13-6 win by decision and a win by fall in 2:21, capturing the consolation championship.

At 141 pounds, Gaige Owens opened the day with a loss by decision but bounced back with two victories in the consolation bracket, one by fall and the other by technical fall. He was then defeated 6-1 by decision, ending his day.

Trevor Hedges began his day at 133 pounds with a win by technical fall but was injured in his next match, forcing him to end his day early.

At 184 pounds, Thomas Culp started with a loss by fall but rebounded with a win by fall in 2:27. However, he was forced into a medical forfeit in his next match, ending his day.
