Nathan Berta Named NCAA D3 Scholar All-American

EUREKA – Eureka College's Nathan Berta has been named an NCAA Division III Scholar All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

He achieved the honor by placing at regionals while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. In February, Berta ended his 2023-24 wrestling season by placing eighth at 141 pounds at the Red Devils' regional meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Berta was one of 418 wrestlers from 100 institutions to have achieved the status of Scholar All-American, and he is first wrestler in Eureka's two-year program history to receive the honor.

"I am very proud of Berta," EC wrestling head coach Eric Biehl said. "He is setting a great standard for being a student-athlete. This is no small feat. Our region is the toughest in the nation, and it takes a lot of time and effort to keep such a high GPA and compete at that high of a level on the mat.
