Red Devils Sharpen Up Ahead of Postseason at Last Chance Invitational

PELLA, IA. – Some members of the Eureka wrestling team travelled to Central College in Pella, Iowa this weekend to participate in the Central Last Chance Invitational.

"It was a good tournament to launch us into the postseason," said Eureka Wrestling Coach, Eric Biehl. "It was good to see what we needed to tighten up before next weekend!"

Nathan Berta (Channahon, Ill./Minooka) finished 2nd at 141 pounds, getting pinned by Central's Donovan Card in the first place match in 3:44.

Anthony Sartori (Channahon, Ill./Minooka) wrestled at 157 pounds and took 5th, winning by decision over Central's Kevin Hogan.

At 197, Thomas Culp (Quincy, Ill. / Quincy) led the Red Devils well, taking 1st by defeating Central's David Stewart by decision in the 1st Place Match.

The Eureka men's wrestling team is back in action on February 17th inside of the Reagan Athletic Complex, as they host the SLIAC Men's Wrestling Championship.
