Webb and Najera Receive All-SLIAC Honors

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Eureka's Miya Webb (Indianapolis, Ind./Brownsburg) and Maxine Najera (Riverside, Calif./Hillcrest) have earned spots on the SLIAC All-Conference teams. Webb secured First Team honors, while Najera was named to the Second Team. This marks Eureka's first time since 2021 with two players earning All-Conference recognition.

In her first season with the Red Devils, Miya Webb has been a standout performer all season. She is currently 5th in the SLIAC in total points with 422, averaging 16.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Webb's elite shooting has placed her 1st in the conference and 27th in NCAA Division III in three-point percentage, hitting 40.0% of her shots from beyond the arc. She also ranks 4th in the SLIAC in assists with 82.

On Feb. 13 against Lyon, Webb recorded a career-high 36 points, the third-most in a single game by any SLIAC player this season and tied for 7th most in a single game in program history. Her 16.2 points per game average is tied for 5th all-time in Eureka women's basketball history, while her 40.0% three-point percentage ranks as the highest career three-point percentage in program history. She made 54 three-pointers this season, ranking 8th in a single season in program history.

Another first year player for the Red Devils, Maxine Najera, earned Second Team honors after a fantastic all-around season. She averaged 10.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Najera ranked 14th in the SLIAC in scoring with 274 points, 4th in rebounds with 184, and 5th in assists with 89. She also finished 4th in the league in steals with 66.

Najera posted a team-high with three double doubles this season, including one in the SLIAC Tournament quarterfinals last night against Spalding. She notched a season-high 18 points against MUW on Feb. 15 and was named SLIAC Player of the Week on Dec. 16 after compiling 31 points and 24 rebounds in a single week. Her nine steals at Lyon on Jan. 16 tied for 5th most in a single game in program history.

Junior guard Alyssa Zarello (Bushnell, Ill./Bushnell) was the Red Devils' representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Eureka will now look ahead to a pivotal matchup as they face Webster in the SLIAC Tournament semifinals tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in Fulton, Mo.
