Red Devils Dominate Blackburn 104-33

EUREKA, Ill. - The Red Devils defeated Blackburn 104-33 on Saturday, marking their 28th consecutive victory over the Beavers. The 71-point margin of victory was the largest over Blackburn in program history and Eureka's largest margin of victory since the 2010-11 season.

In the first quarter, Eureka took an early lead with Sierra Garcia-Reisch (Las Animas, Colo./La Junta) contributing significantly. This performance was part of her career-high of 25 points and four assists. Maxine Najera (Riverside, Calif./Hillcrest) also made an impact with key free throws and a jumper to further extend the lead, culminating in a 28-9 lead by the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter, Eureka dominated with a strong defensive and offensive performance, outscoring Blackburn 31-5. Miya Webb (Indianapolis, Ind./Brownsburg) made a layup at 8:45, which was one of many fast-break points throughout the quarter. Lainey Moore (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) contributed significantly with consecutive fast-break layups, and Sierra Garcia-Reisch added a 3-pointer with 2:34 remaining, as the Red Devils capitalized on multiple Blackburn turnovers to maintain control of the game.

In the third quarter, Eureka outscored Blackburn 20-12, showcasing strong defensive play with five steals. Sierra Garcia-Reisch contributed significantly with multiple rebounds and layups, while Brin Hultz (Quincy, Ill./Quincy) added a fast-break layup and a 3-pointer, achieving a season-high with 22 points and a double-double with 10 rebounds. Maxine Najera supported the team with key assists and defensive rebounds, maintaining the Red Devils' lead throughout the quarter.

Eureka dominated the fourth quarter with a strong offensive performance, outscoring Blackburn 25-7. Elena Redgate (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) contributed significantly with three layups, setting a career high with 16 points. Brin Hultz added a layup and a 3-pointer, pushing the home team's score to 98. Alyssa Abascal (El Paso, Texas/El Dorado) closed out the scoring for Eureka with a late jump shot, securing a 104-33 victory. Abascal finished the game with a career-high of 11 points.

Sierra Garcia-Reisch led the Red Devils with an impressive 25 points, making 11 of her 14 field goal attempts and connecting on three 3-pointers. Her performance also included three steals and four assists. Brin Hultz contributed significantly with 22 points, achieving a double-double by collecting 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive end. Hultz also recorded two steals. Alyssa Abascal added 11 points, shooting 5-for-8 from the field and securing four steals. Additionally, she grabbed five rebounds and provided two assists. Eureka's 46 made field goals were just two shy of tying the single-game program record.

Eureka secured their fourth consecutive win and will now host Webster in their next matchup. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 5:30 p.m. Eureka and Webster are currently tied for second place in the SLIAC.
