Caty Bane (Eeten) to be inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame

ST. LOUIS, MO – The Eureka College Athletic Department is pleased to announce that its own Caty Bane (Eeten) is among the five selected this year to be inducted into the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame later this Spring.

A Eureka-native, Caty Eeten chose to stay local and helped put Eureka College women's basketball on the map. Eeten's career at Eureka spanned from 2010-14. During those four seasons as a Red Devil, she firmly stamped her name all over the EC record book.

In 2010-11, Eeten was a freshman. She joined the team at the semester break and, in 17 appearances, posted a remarkable 17.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. By the end of the season, she earned the title of SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and D3Hoops.comCentral Region Rookie of the Year.

In her first full season for the maroon and gold, the 2011-12 season, she set the single-season scoring record – a record which still stands today – with 594 points (22.8 ppg).  She also set the all-time Eureka record for free throws made this season with 190 (now holding 2nd and 3rdplace as well with 171 in 2013-14 and 164 in 2012-13). And, in November of 2011 against Knox, Eeten set the all-time SLIAC record for single-game scoring by dropping 49 points. At the end of the season, she was named the 2012 SLIAC Player of the Year.

The 2012-13 season saw Eeten set the Eureka record for 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 53.2% from beyond the arc. The 555 points she scored this season ranks 4th on EC's all-time single season scoring chart. And, as a senior in 2013-14, Eeten recorded 510 points which ranks 5th all-time (with her own seasons taking 1st and 4th ahead of this one).

By the time she finished her collegiate career, Eeten was the conference's all-time leading scorer, totaling 1,960 points and averaging 20.9 points per game. To this day, she remains the league's all-time leading scorer, still holds SLIAC career records for field goals made and free throws made and holds the SLIAC single game scoring record for the 49 points that she put up against Knox during her sophomore season.

Bane is a four-time All-Conference selection including three as a First Team honoree. She was named All-Region three times in her career and was a preseason All-American in 2011-12.
