GALESBURG, Ill. – Knox pulled away from the Eureka women's basketball team in the second half and handed the Red Devils an 82-58 loss on Saturday.

Eureka junior forward Josie Ness (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) recorded her second straight double-double, tallying a career-high 19 points and a career-high 18 rebounds while shooting 7-for-12 from the field. She also posted a career-high seven blocks, tying herself with Kelsey Shoemake (2013), Raeann Albin (2002) and Dawn Bradbury (1996) for the most in a single game in program history.

Senior Makayla Rosebery (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) followed with 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including going 2-for-2 from distance.

Freshmen Ashley Wilcox (Hudson, Ill./Normal West) and Lainey Moore (Sullivan, Ill./Sullivan) each contributed 11 points, while Avery Seidel (Wayne City, Ill./Wayne City/Lincoln Christian) distributed a team-high four assists. It was Wilcox's third straight of reaching double figures and Moore's first in her career.

The Red Devils hung with the Prairie Fire for a good chunk of the first half, but the home team used eight first-half 3-pointers, including 15 in the second quarter, to build a 16-point halftime lead.

Knox then tallied 11 steals in the third quarter, and the lead swelled to 29 early in the fourth.

The Red Devils shot a higher field-goal percentage (a season-best 45%-41.6%) and outrebounded the Prairie Fire (40-34) on the day, but between 10 Knox triples and 30 points off turnovers, they weren't able to stay with them.

The Red Devils (2-2) will continue non-conference play with a road matchup at Franklin (2-1) on Wednesday.
