ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka's Sydney Hannam (Canton, Ill./Canton/Spoon River) has been selected to the All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team.

The maroon and gold's leading scorer received All-SLIAC honors for the first time in her two-year career as a Red Devil, the SLIAC announced Wednesday afternoon. She is Eureka's first First Team honoree since Olivia Falls in 2020.

Hannam was the second-leading scorer in the SLIAC this season, averaging 18.7 points per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from 3-point range and 84.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The senior led the SLIAC in scoring in conference play, posting 20.9 points in 14 games. She was fifth in the league in 3-point percentage in SLIAC play at 43.1 percent while knocking down the second-most 3s in SLIAC play, and no one knocked down more free throws in SLIAC play.

Hannam put away 78 of 94 free-throws (83 percent) in SLIAC play – topping the field in both makes and attempts. This winter, Hannam scored 20 or more points 13 times, including in nine straight games from Dec. 16 to Jan. 21, and against conference opponents nine times. She reached double figures in scoring in every game except for two.

On Jan. 11, she scored a career-high 43 in a 104-59 dubbing of Blackburn. It was the first 40-point game in program history since Hayley Reneau's 41 against Monmouth on Nov. 21, 2017, and the highest scoring performance since Caty Eeten's 49 against Knox on Nov. 17, 2011. After shooting 13-for-20 from the field, knocking down six 3-pointers for the first time in her career as a Red Devil, going 11-for-13 at the free-throw line and pulling down a career-high seven rebounds, she was named the SLIAC Player of the Week.

Hannam finished the season with 486 points – 273 more points than she did last year. She complemented all her scoring with career improvements in rebounds (66), assists (38), steals (39) and blocks (six), as well.

Freshman Frannie Heckman (Benson, Ill./Roanoke-Benson) was Eureka's representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
