EUREKA – After a pair of monster performances, Eureka's Sydney Hannam (Canton, Ill./Canton/Spoon River) is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The senior averaged 36 points while shooting a sizzling 64.5 percent from the field, 64.3 percent from 3-point range and 88.5 percent from the free-throw line in two SLIAC wins this week.

On Wednesday, she dropped a career-high 43 points on 13-for-20 shooting, hit six 3-pointers and went 11-for-13 from the free-throw line in a 104-59 win over Blackburn. It was the fourth-most points scored in a game in SLIAC history.

Hannam then tallied 29 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 shooting from distance and 12-of-13 shooting from the line in an 81-73 win over Spalding. She also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game on the week and recorded four assists and four steals.

This is the first time Hannam has received SLIAC Player of the Week honors and it is the first time an EC player has received the honor under head coach Jaylynn Stewart. She is the first EC women's basketball player to garner the award since Olivia Falls on Feb. 10, 2020.

After her big week, Hannam is now the leading scorer in the SLIAC with 20.8 points per game. She is also fifth in the league in field-goal percentage at 46.4 percent. This winter, Hannam has notched double figures in all fifteen games and scored 20 or more eight times, including the past seven straight games.

The Red Devils are now 5-10 on the season and 2-2 in SLIAC play. They will next host Webster (13-2, 3-1 SLIAC) inside Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
