Wisconsin-River Falls Tops Red Devils, 99-53

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Eureka women's basketball team fell 99-53 on the road against a strong Wisconsin-River Falls team on Sunday.

Three Red Devils reached double figures in the loss.

Senior Sydney Hannam (Canton, Ill./Canton/Spoon River) posted team-high 14 points. Senior Abby Stotler (Wyoming, Ill./Stark County) followed with 13 and freshman Reece Putrich (Farmington, Ill./Farmington Central) added a career-high 12 while pulling down a team-high seven rebounds. Stotler was right behind her with six rebounds.

Wisconsin-River Falls showed its depth, with six players scoring between 14 and 10 points.

Julia Seidel notched a team-high 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.

Fellow starting guard Macy Nilsen contributed 13 points. Zoey Buchan and Kameri Meredith respectively posted 12 and 11 points off the bench, while Karleigh Creasey and Averie Varsho both had 10.

Creasey distributed a game-high seven assists. Meredith and Cassie Heinrichs each had four steals.

On Wednesday at 2 p.m., Eureka (2-5) will look to come back strong in another road matchup at Aurora (7-2). Then, on Friday, the Red Devils will host Knox (6-2) inside Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center at 1 p.m.
