EC Women’s Basketball Announces 2022-23 Recruiting Class

EUREKA – Third-year Eureka women's basketball coach Jaylynn Stewart announced the addition of six players to the program on Friday.

The former Red Devil standout's third recruiting class since taking over the program in spring 2020 features three freshman and three transfers. One transfer is a sophomore from Lincoln Land Community College, while the other two are juniors from Lincoln Christian.

Eureka will also be returning seven players from the 2021-22 squad, which went 11-14 overall, 7-7 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, and made it to the SLIAC Tournament for the ninth time in the last 11 years.

"We are thrilled to have these six joining our program this season," Stewart said. "We are excited to see them work with our returners and continue to build and transform this program in the classroom and on the court."

The Class of 2022-23 includes:

Silvia Du

A 5-foot-3 sophomore transfer from Lincoln Land Community College, Silvia came off the bench as a freshman guard for the Loggers, and was previously a Second Team All-Big 12 honoree, state 3-point contest qualifier and a News Gazette All-Area Special Mention recipient at Centennial.

Frannie Heckman

A 5-foot-10 freshman from Roanoke-Benson, Frannie was a captain and Second Team All-Tri-County Conference honoree for the Rockets. She was also an Honor Student.

Riley May

A 5-foot-8 freshman from Mt. Pulaski, Riley helped lead the Hilltoppers to Tomahawk Conference and regional titles, and go 28-6 on the season in 2021-22. She was also first in her class academically.

Reece Putrich

A 5-foot-6 freshman from Farmington, Reece was a Second Team All-Prairieland honoree and an Honor Student.

Makayla Rosenberry

A 5-foot-10 junior transfer from Lincoln Christian, Makayla was previously a team captain, All-Apollo Conference honoree and Honor Student at Mahomet-Seymour.

Avery Seidel

A 5-foot-2 junior transfer from Lincoln Christian, Avery was previously an All-Midland Trail selection and honorable mention recipient at Wayne City.
