Millikin Takes Down Eureka, 87-43

EUREKA – After a close first half, Millikin broke the game open in the second half and recorded an 87-43 victory over the Eureka women's basketball team on Monday evening.

The Red Devils led by six early and were only down by 10 points at halftime. In the second half, however, Millikin outscored Eureka 52-18 while shooting 56 percent from the floor.

Shakaya Rogers (Hanover, Mich./Concord) finished with a team-high 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) followed with 11 points and seven boards, while Sydney Hannam (Canton, Ill./Canton) added six points and three boards off the bench.

Ariel Chism (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) and Hannah Burkiett (Elmwood, Ill./Elmwood) chipped in with four and three points, respectively.

Millikin's Elyce Knudsen led the Big Blue with 24 points on 11-for-17 shooting from the floor while tying for a team-high eight rebounds.  Bailey Coffman contributed 12 points, and Aubrey Staton and Brin Hultz each had 10.

On Wednesday, the Red Devils (3-6) will look to bounce back as they open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against Westminster (4-7). Tip-off at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center is set for 3 p.m.
