WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – The Eureka women's basketball team's spring came to an end on Friday with an 82-60 loss against top-seeded Webster in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals.

The Red Devils finished the 2021 campaign with a 7-8 record and a 5-5 mark in SLIAC play, falling one win short of competing for a SLIAC Tournament title.

The maroon and gold gave the Gorloks a run for their money in Eureka six days ago, but they couldn't keep up on the road. Webster squeezed EC with its press from the get-go and racked up 43 points off turnovers to build a sizeable lead. Foul trouble also made it challenging for the Red Devils to chip away.

Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) notched 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting and gathered a team-high seven rebounds for Eureka. Marissa Murphy (Canton, Ill./Canton) added nine points and two steals, while Abby Stotler (Wyoming, Ill./Stark County) and Shakaya Rogers (Hanover, Mich./Concord) contributing eight and seven points, respectively.

Alaina Vance (Camp Point, Ill./Central) had a team-high four assists, along with five points, and Kennedy Jackson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) posted six rebounds off the bench.

Webster's Addison Buessink was the Gorloks' leading scorer with 16 points. She was followed by SLIAC Player of the Year Julie Baudendistel with 13 and Hannah Cottrell with 11.

The Gorloks (11-1, 8-1 SLIAC) will take on Westminster (11-3, 7-2 SLIAC) for the SLIAC Tournament title on Saturday at 7 p.m.
