EUREKA – Webster edged the Eureka women's basketball team 91-82 in a bout between the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's first and fourth-ranked teams at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena and Convocation Center on Saturday.

The Red Devils quickly shook off a slow start and put the pressure on the Gorloks until deep in the fourth quarter. The home team reduced a 15-point lead to six by the end of the first quarter, made it within two by halftime and held a one-point advantage heading into the fourth.

However, Webster was able to get hot at the right time, outpacing EC 27-17 in the final frame to secure the win.

Alaina Vance (Camp Point, Ill./Central) posted a career-high 24 points and made six 3-pointers.

Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) followed with 19 points. Whitney Bozarth (Normal, Ill./Normal West) added 12 and made three triples, while Shakaya Rogers (Hanover, Mich./Concord) and Abby Stotler (Wyoming, Ill./Stark County) contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Webster's Addison Beussink tallied a game-high 29 points. Hannah Cottrell (16), Naomi Johnson (14) and Julie Baudendistel (14) all reached double figures for the Gorloks as well.
