Westminster Pulls Away From Red Devils, 89-71

EUREKA —The Eureka women's basketball team kept up with Westminster for the first half on Saturday, but the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-leading Blue Jays pulled away and clinched an 89-71 win over the Red Devils.

Olivia Falls (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) recorded a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds while going 4-for-7 from the field and 9-for-11 from the free-throw line. Abby Stotler (Wyoming, Ill./Stark County) added 15 points and Alaina Vance (Camp Point, Ill./Central) and Savanah Moore (Clinton, Ill./Clinton) each contributed 13 points.

The Red Devils battled foul trouble all game and finished with 24 fouls, while Westminster had 23. Westminster racked up 54 points in the paint compared to EC's 24.

Eureka (5-6, 4-4 SLIAC) will look to bounce back at Blackburn on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
