Balducci tabbed as SLIAC Player of the Week

CARLINVILLE, Ill. --
 For the first time in her collegiate career, Eureka College junior forward Michaela Balducci (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Balducci led the Red Devils in points and rebounds in a 74-69 defeat at home last Friday morning against the Illinois College Lady Blues.

Balducci, who is returning from action after missing all but six games last season due to a knee injury, netted 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against IC for her second career double-double. The junior played a game-high 38 minutes, connecting on 6 of 17 shots from the field and 5 of 9 shots from the free throw line. Balducci also added four assists, three steals and one block to her statline.

Monday's announcement marks the fifth women's basketball Player of the Week under second-year head coach Steve Thompson. The Red Devils will host the Knox College Prairie Fire on Saturday in non-conference action with a scheduled tip-off off 2 p.m.
