Senior Spotlight: Emily Camden

Senior Spotlight: Emily Camden

Eureka College sports information director Alex Hess caught up with senior Emily Camden of the women's basketball team for the tenth release of the 2015-16 weekly Senior Spotlight series that will have new seniors interviewed every Wednesday.

Q. What is your greatest athletic memory at Eureka College?

Before this year, it was definitely beating Westminster at the conference tournament to get into the championship game last year.  We had lost to them both times earlier in the season, and it was so awesome to see how our team came together to get the win.

But this year would, hands down, be Midnight Madness.  Even though we lost, that is something I will remember forever.

Q. Describe yourself in one sentence?

I love helping others and seeing other people achieve something they do not think is possible.

Q. Aside from playing (sport), what are some of your other passions?

Living out my faith as a Christian is my number one passion.  I have been extremely blessed in so many areas, and I hope that I can use what I have been given to give back to other and do everything for the glory of God.  Another one of my passions is my family.  They always have been and always will be one of my biggest passions.  They are such a huge support system for me, and they have helped shape me into the person I am today.

Q. What do you plan on doing after graduation from Eureka College with your (degree)?

I plan on getting my Master's degree in College Student Personnel in Student Affairs and Higher Education.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give an incoming freshman?

Make the most of every opportunity you are given in life.  Don't live your life, especially your four years in college, wishing you had taken advantage of the opportunities placed in front of you.
