Emily Camden chosen as SLIAC Player of the Week

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- For the second time in her collegiate career, Eureka College senior Emily Camden (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Camden's week was highlighted by hitting the game-winning free throws Saturday in an overtime victory over Fontbonne.

She began the week with a team-high 14 points at home against Iowa Wesleyan and capped the week with a game-high 25 points against Fontbonne.

Down by one in overtime versus the Griffins, she hit a trio of free throws with 0.7 seconds left on the clock to secure the Senior Day victory and keep Eureka's postseason bid alive.

Camden finished the week 12-of-24 (.500) from the floor, 5-13 (.385) from the arc, and 10-of-12 (.833) from the free throw line. The scoring output over the two games pushed her career total to 1,056 points, passing Terese Raum (1988-92) for 11th all-time in school history.

Monday's announcement marks the sixth women's basketball Player of the Week under second-year head coach Steve Thompson. The Red Devils travel to Blackburn on Wednesday in conference action with a tip-off set for 6 p.m.
