Voyles Earns First Team All-SLIAC, Thornton Second Team

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Eureka's Ashlyn Voyles (Farmer City, Ill./Farmer City) and Alayla Thornton (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) have been selected to the SLIAC All-Conference Team. Voyles earned First Team honors, becoming the first Red Devil named to the First Team since Raelyn Payne in 2022, while Thornton was named to the Second Team.
In her junior season, Voyles anchored the Red Devils both offensively and defensively, batting .341 with a .424 slugging percentage. She recorded seven doubles and drove in 18 runs, ranking second on the team in both categories. Behind the plate, she caught five runners stealing, solidifying her place among the top catchers in the conference.
Junior infielder Alayla Thornton earned a spot on the SLIAC All-Conference Second Team after a historic season at the plate. Thornton posted a team-best .762 slugging percentage — the second highest in the conference and the eighth-best single-season mark in program history. Thornton batted .375, drove in 23 RBIs (10th in the SLIAC), and led the Red Devils with 7 home runs, 8 doubles, and 1 triple. Thornton's home run total ranked second in the SLIAC and tied for the third-most in a single season in program history. Thornton's 1.188 OPS also ranked second in the league.
