Trio of Red Devils Land All-SLIAC Honors

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Three Red Devils have been named to the SLIAC Softball All-Conference Team.

Eureka's Mackenzie Daniels (Monticello, Ill./Monticello) and Macey Whisker (Washington, Ill./Washington/ICC) were selected to the All-SLIAC Second Team, while Gada Bryant (Westville, Ill./Bismark-Henning/Rossville-Alvin/Lincoln) earned a spot on the Third Team. 

Daniels, a third baseman, received All-SLIAC honors for the first time in her career. She led the team with 11 RBI in 14 SLIAC games this Spring and recorded a batting average of .400 in 40 at-bats during conference play, also drawing three walks. Overall, Daniels finished the season with a batting average of .356 and recorded a team-high 18 RBI. 

Whisker, the Red Devils' center fielder, earned All-SLIAC honors for the second consecutive season. Serving as the leadoff hitter, Whisker recorded a batting average of .378 in 12 conference games. She tied for the team-high with 12 stolen bases this season on 15 attempts. Whisker also boasted a fielding percentage of .957, tallying 65 putouts and 1 assist in 69 chances. 

Bryant, a shortstop for the Red Devils, also earned All-SLIAC honors for the second year in a row. She recorded an impressive batting average of .421 on the season, including back-to-back three-hit performances against Lawrence and UW-Superior early in the season. Bryant finished the season with 12 steals, tying for the team lead with fellow All-SLIAC teammate, Macey Whisker

Additionally, the Red Devils were awarded the SLIAC's Team Sportsmanship Award. Kloe Norris (Manito, Ill./Midwest Central) was elected as the team's representative on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
