EC Softball Honors Seniors Virtually

Good morning ladies and gentleman, and welcome to EurekaRedDevils.com. Today, we are honoring seniors from the 2020 Eureka softball team with a virtual senior day.

Our first senior is Erin Smith. Erin is a four-year member of the Red Devils. A pitcher, Erin made 53 starts and tossed 49 complete games. She is currently in the top 10 of the EC record book in four major pitching categories, including eighth in innings pitched (364), sixth in career ERA (2.27), tied for fourth in strikeouts (201) and fourth in career wins (40). A First Team All-SLIAC honoree, she pitched every inning of EC's 2019 postseason run to the NCAA Tournament.

From Dunlap, Illinois, No. 25 Erin Smith!

Our next senior is Sydney Shubert. Sydney is a two-year member of the Red Devils. A center fielder, she led NCAA Division III in 2019 with a .587 batting average, had the second-highest on on-base percentage in the nation (.618) and tied for scoring the third-most runs per game (1.33). She tallied 88 hits, 57 runs, 20 stolen bases, 18 RBIs, five doubles and four triples in 43 games while recording a .988 fielding percentage. She was Eureka's first SLIAC Player of the Year in program history, a First Team All-SLIAC selection and one of the Red Devils' first All-America selections in over a quarter of a century.

From Canton, Illinois, No. 3 Sydney Shubert!

Our final senior is Morgan Ledbetter. Morgan is a two-year member of the Red Devils. EC's starting first baseman and cleanup hitter, Morgan led Division III in 2019 in home runs per game (.49) and RBIs per game (1.66) and was second in the nation in slugging percentage (1.70). She holds the program record for career home runs with 18. She racked up 71 hits, 66 RBIs, 35 runs, 12 doubles and 12 walks in 45 games while recording a .987 fielding percentage. She was the 2019 SLIAC Tournament MVP, a First Team All-SLIAC honoree, an NCAA Tournament Regional All-Tournament selection and one of the Red Devils' first All-America selections in over a quarter of a century
