Red Devils Continue Indoor Season at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Eureka College sophomore Brett Charlton (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) earned a runner-up finish in the 60 meter dash at Monmouth's Fighting Scot Invitational, leading the Red Devils to five top-10 individual efforts at Huff Athletic Center in Monmouth, Ill.

Charlton ran the 60 preliminaries in 7.20 seconds, the fourth-fastest time among 30 participants. In the final, his time of 7.05 seconds was one-one-hundredth (0.01) of a second behind winner Jeremiah Davis of Greenville.

Charlton also delivered a strong effort in the long jump, placing fifth out of 20 competitors with a jump of 20-feet, 8-inches. Junior Collin Aimone was seventh in the long jump at 20-feet, 4-inches and Tony Greenwood (Momence, Ill./Momence H.S.) was 10th at 19-feet, 5-inches.

Elsewhere in field events, junior Cooper Elam (Farmington, Ill./Farmington H.S.) placed third in the pole vault with a final mark of 11-feet, 9-inches.

Jonathan Schertz (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley H.S.) bettered his time in the 60 meter wheelchair dash with a time of 20.94 seconds.
