PELLA, Iowa – The Eureka men's soccer team began their trip to Iowa with a 3-0 loss to Central on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutch took an early lead against the Red Devils with a goal in the 20th minute. The score remained 1-0 until early in the 2nd half when they scored in the 53rd minute to extend their lead. The Dutch added a third and final goal in the 68th minute on their way to a 3-0 victory.
Sophomore Michael DeCarlo (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) and freshman Miguel Núñez (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) recorded Eureka's only shots of the game. Freshman goalkeeper Kohle Andrakowicz(Elgin, Ill./Elgin) played the full 90 minutes and made 6 saves.
Central outshot Eureka 22-2 and placed 11 of their shots on target, compared to none for the Red Devils.
