CARLINVILLE, Ill. –  The Eureka men's soccer team was unable to spoil Blackburn's Senior Day on Wednesday, falling to the Beavers 4-2 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

The Beavers jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first 27 minutes of the match.

Hayden Reese slipped past the Red Devils' back line after a send by Hayden Fox in the 17th minute. About 10 minutes later, Luke Atkinson made it 2-0 off an assist by Dylan Klunk.

Eureka's Daniel Jueliger (London, UK/Netherhall Secondary School/Lincoln) put the Red Devils on the board a minute later. His first goal of the season and his second as a Red Devil came off a set piece free kick to make it 2-1.

The Beavers struck again in the 73rd minute, scoring following a long throw into the box. Dylan Klunk put it away and Hayden Reese had the assist.

Three minutes later, Grant Halley made a penalty kick after a collision in the box between a Blackburn player and Eureka goalkeeper Brayton Strawkas (Buffalo, Ill./Tri-City).

Eureka's Khalil Alleyne (Diego Martin, Trinidad/Fatima College/Lincoln) scored the final goal of the match after dancing through the box and finding the back of the net in the 78th minute. It was his team-high fourth goal of the season and the 13th of his career.

On Thursday, Eureka (5-8-4, 2-4-2 SLIAC) will turn around and take on IUPUC (7-7-1) in non-conference play on the road at 6 p.m. CT.
