GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka men's soccer team fell 3-0 against Greenville on the road on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils conceded three goals in the first half, and were unable to get on the board from there.

Pablo Valverde capitalized off two mistakes in the back to score the first goals of the match. The first was off an assist by Jared McPeek in the sixth minute. The second was an unassisted effort following a turnover in Eureka's defensive third.

Then, in the 34th minute, Gabriel Sule headed in a corner kick off an assist by Napolean Urquidi.

Eureka's Jake Edmondson (Monticello, Ill./Monticello) and Isaac Noriega (Chicago, Ill./Muchin College Prep/Lincoln) each had a shot on goal. Goalkeeper Brayton Strawkas (Buffalo, Ill./Tri-City) notched 14 saves.

Eureka (5-10-2, 3-8-2 SLIAC) will next host Principia (8-4-3, 6-4-2 SLIAC) in a Senior Night matchup to wrap up the 2022 regular season. The Red Devils need a result to have a chance to clinch a SLIAC Tournament berth and extend the season.
