Spalding Tops Eureka, 3-0

EUREKA – The Eureka men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Spalding on Saturday.

The Red Devils topped the Golden Eagles 1-0 in Louisville last month, but on Saturday at McKinzie Field, Spalding netted two goals in the first half and tacked on one more in the second to split with EC.

Mustafa Almohammedawi put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 24th minute on an assist by Chadrack Mulondani. Then, just over 10 minutes later, Braden Anderson made it 2-0 on an assist by Almohammedawi.

Joaquin Flores put away the third and final goal on an assist by Humberto Sanchez in the 59th minute.

Eureka goalkeeper Brayton Strawkas (Buffalo, Ill./Tri-City) made six saves. Tyler Russow (Streator, Ill./Streator/Illinois Valley Community College) had two shots on goal, while Kahlil Alleyne (Diego Martin, Trinidad/Fatima College/Lincoln) and Jacob Russow (Streator, Ill./Streator/Lincoln) each had one.

Eureka (4-8-2, 2-6-2 SLIAC) will next head on the road to take on Webster (10-1-3, 8-0-2) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
