FULTON, Mo. – The Eureka men's soccer team played Westminster to a scoreless draw on the road on Saturday.
It was only the second scoreless draw in program history and the first since Oct. 25, 2016 against Greenville.
Jacob Russow (Streator, Ill./Streator/Lincoln) and Raphael Mungu (Bloomington, Ill./Normal) each had a shot on goal for the Red Devils. Tigrin Topchain, Adam Luetkemeyer, Samuel Brown and Noah Naumann each had a shot on goal for the Blue Jays. Both teams notched exactly 11 shots.
Eureka goalkeeper Brayton Strawkas (Buffalo, Ill./Tri-City) didn't concede a goal for the second time this season and made four saves in net.
The result moved the Red Devils to 2-5-1 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and 4-7-1 on the season. They're currently in sixth place in the league standings, just behind the Blue Jays.
Eureka (4-7-1, 2-5-1 SLIAC) will next take on Blackburn (4-5-3, 1-4-3) on the road on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
