EUREKA – For the second straight game, the Eureka men's soccer team went into halftime tied at 0-0 but fell behind in the second half.

Blackburn tallied three goals in the final 45 minutes on Wednesday and came away with a 3-0 victory over the Red Devils.

The Beavers first broke through in the 50th minute after capitalizing on a mistake in the back. Zibo Siamsipa set up Hayden Reese to put the visitors on the board.

The Red Devils trailed 1-0 for the next 25 minutes-plus. Then, in the 76th minute, Reese slipped behind the EC defense and played a ball on the ground across to Siamsipa, who put it away and made it 2-0.

Blackburn's Shane Greathouse scored off his own rebound in the 84th minute for the final goal of the match.

Though Blackburn put 14 shots on frame to Eureka's one, the Red Devils had plenty of opportunities, notching 10 shots on the match. They just didn't come together.

Eureka goalkeeper Isaac Hughes (Westville, Ill./Westville) had a strong performance in net, racking up 11 saves on the afternoon.

The Red Devils (0-9, 0-7 SLIAC) will next take on Westminster (2-7-2, 2-4-1) 1 p.m. Saturday on the road.
