Red Devils Fall at Principia, 5-0

ELSAH, Ill. – The Eureka men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Principia on Saturday.

The Panthers tallied three goals in the first half and tacked on two more in the second. Five different players found the back of the net. Walter Lazo notched three assists.

Liam Peschke put the home team on the board off an assist by Patrick Sherman in the ninth minute.

Juniour Baraza made it 2-0 off Lazo's first assist of the evening in the 30th minute and E.G. Lazo connected with Pierce to give the Panthers a three-goal lead just over two and a half minutes later.

Sherman struck in the 56th minute off another Lazo assist, and Lazo himself scored unassisted in the 79th.

The Panthers outshot Eureka 21-5 on the day. Kamiel Sauer (Haarlem, Netherlands/Coornher Lyceum) and Will Wiegand (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) each posted a shot on the goal for the Red Devils.

On Tuesday, the Red Devils (0-4, 0-2 SLIAC) will host Greenville (3-4, 1-1 SLIAC) at McKinzie Field at 3 p.m.
