Eureka Challenges Fontbonne, Falls, 4-0

EUREKA – The Eureka men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 home match against Fontbonne at McKinzie Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The Red Devils kept it competitive throughout the match, but the Griffins found the back of the net three times in the first half and scored late in the to seal the result.

Senior Tyler Goss (Groveland, Ill./Pekin) was honored before the match as a four-year member of the Red Devils and invaluable presence in the maroon and gold's back line. However, in his final match at McKinzie Field, the senior played up and helped support the team's midfield.

Porter Wesson (Leland, Ill./Leland) recorded Eureka's lone shot on the day.

Freshman goalkeeper Isaac Hughes (Westville, Ill./Westville) made three saves in the first half and fellow freshman keeper Bryer Beadles (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon) made four in the second.

Kaleb Wilson scored twice for the Griffins, while Anthony LaRocca and Andrew Kneale each scored one.

Eureka will next face Westminster on the road on Saturday at 3 p.m.
