EUREKA — The Eureka men's soccer team battled with Blackburn on a cold, wet and windy late night at McKinzie Field.
Playing shorthanded, the Red Devils limited the Beavers to two goals in the first half, but the visitors put away three in the second half and came away with a 5-0 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win.
Eureka goalkeeper Bryer Beadles (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon) made 10 saves for the Red Devils in 90 minutes in the net and Diego Cintora (Watseka, Ill./Watseka) recorded a shot on goal.
The Beavers had five players find the back of the net: Luke Atkinson, Michael Rodriguez, Hayden Reese, Jordan Leihser and Jamie Jose Pineda. As a team, they put 15 shots on goal.
Eureka (0-3, 0-3 SLIAC) will next face Principia on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m.
